I'm determined to start learning programming as soon as I free up some time in a few months time. I've considered applying at the university and actually take a degree in computer science, but it seems like there's so many great resources online now with courses that it would be a better choice to go for them?
I imagine the latter to be more straight-to-the-point while the former usually have a lot of unnecessary filler stuff based on prior experiences with my other degrees. The advantage with a degree is of course that it might be worth something in the end. I'm in Norway, so school is basically 'free' here.
Not sure which language to start on either. It seems like Python is very popular these days. On the other hand, I currently use Ninjatrader which uses C# and have an application written to me in C#. I imagine the learning curve to be higher with C# though...
