Sierra Charts support is working on the Ubuntu issue. Gotta love those guys. Below is my post on their site and their answer
Any chance you could speak with Rithmic to see if a solution can be found? I know this is not a high priority item but it could open up a whole new avenue.....
Re: Is Sierra Chart Compatible With Ubuntu Linux?
We have contacted Rithmic about this and we will see what can be done.

Is this a VirtualBox containing Windows and NT ? If Yes, you're still running that "closed source OS". I use Mac but still run NT in a VMWareFusion/Windows environment on my Mac. I wish I can run NT natively on my Mac or on a Linux machine

I am trying to be able to run Sierra Charts natively on Ubuntu. SC will run but the data feed engine will not start. SC technical support is talking to Rithmic to see if the issue can be solved.

I wouldn't recommend buying ATI stuff and running it with Linux, I've had the opposite experience. I couldn't get Dual displays to work with ATI's support. NVIDIA distributes their drivers (albeit in proprietary format) to the Linux community, and they do a MUCH better job with 3d support, acceleration, and multiple display support.
Can you get video on all 4 monitors and just can't rotate the screen? Or are you unable to enable some or all of the additional monitors?
Can't say it was that thread specifically, but I spent several hours with dozens of xorg config options. There was simply no way to get (forget what nvidia calls it --- the ability for each monitor to be its own workspace + all the compiz stuff turned on) plus have my top two monitors rotated 180 degrees (upside down).
The default (non-nvidia) drivers could rotate. But the nvidia drivers could not. But with default, I couldn't get 4 monitors to all be their own workspace (been a while since I last tried, it was ubuntu 9.04 -- I am forgetting all the terminology used).
Well that is rather interesting, I believe you are on custom turf when it comes to your xorg.conf. This is only a suggestion but, this Rotate display 90 degrees counterclockwise? - Ubuntu Forums gives insturctions on what to add to the xorg.conf in order to rotate 90 degress.
I believe that you will have to configure the xorg.conf file to use 2 monitors at first. Then go into the file and add the necessary video devices to the file, and stipulate that you want them rotated after you add them. I can't find a xorg.conf reference file with 4 monitors and 2 rotated, but you should be able to use the quad xorg.conf file I posted earlier and add the Option "Rotate" "180" line to the xorg.conf section that applies to your display.
Also, just a suggestion, I would leave all of the compiz and eye candy alone until I had all 4 displays functioning the way I want them. Then turn on the candy. Best of luck!
... Oh and also, don't edit the xorg.conf through the nvidia editor, unless you execute nvidia-settings with su or run it as root. I ran into a problem where I would edit the config to my liking, it would tell me it saved, but the new information wouldn't get written to the file.

Received an answer on Sierra Charts support board that Rithmic will put out a new API next month that should allow SC to receive Rithmic data under Ubuntu. I am hopeful, but will contain my excitement until I see it work and work reliably........but it is good to see folks trying to make things work....
