Setup on the RUSSELL, same time as the ES but with a different look. The black dots on the 1508 represent the zigzag with a span of 2. I am also using the PriceActionSwing with a Swing size of 2 using the Standard Swing type to display the length of the swing but it also shows smaller swings. I am using both as the zigzag UTC is bugged but i still want to see what Charles is seeing as this is the version he uses.
I am not sure. All i can say is some HH or LL are not drawn correctly or are just missing so i need to use my brain to evaluate HH HL LL HL. Sometimes i consider a HH is made but it is not drawn by the indicator. This is another small example how dumb a computer can be at times. I prefer to trust my mind. It keeps me engage in the action.
Yes i agree but in this case the problem is with the indicator which is not reliable. I have some ideas for a reliable zigzag indicator but i don't have any inclination for coding it or asking someone to do it.
Yes, I know what you mean. I've been thinking of trying to improve this one, but really they all have their defects, and at the moment I don't feel like putting energy into coding.
One of the things I like about having such an indicator, though, is precisely that I no longer have to evaluate every twist and turn of price to decide whether it's major or minor, at least on the slower chart. But it doesn't work so cleanly on CL!
So my plan was to ONLY take trades that present some type of divergence on the 377 tic chart. No matter if that was a pullback to the 13 OR the 50 EMA on the 1508.
It's been a bit slow, and haven't seen very many setups. But today there where two of them, and I just happened to not be around when they happened.
Has anyone looked a the code for both? It may not be a bug, but just that each indicator is using a different criteria or method to determine the swing points.
