Is there an indicator that will draw an horizontal line starting at a specific time? For example I have a Euro chart, 24 hours that starts at 5 pm, and will like to have a line marking the London open at 3 am EST.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
You can use the opening range indicator, if you set the opening range lines to transparent and the opacity to zero. Set the start time of your second intraday session to 3:00 AM EST and will display the open value accordingly. The chart shows the result below. It also shows the Asian trading range, you can set the times individually in Tokyo Standard Time.
Because of the Tokyo-London overlap, I use 2:00 AM for the opening time (8:00 AM Frankfurt or 7:00 AM London time), but it is your choice.
Harry,
yes I thought about using the OR indi, but I am already using it for the US open (which is the start of my second session). I guess I will have to create a new session for the Euro and use a second OR indi on that new session. I was hoping for something simple to use on the same session that I am using now.
Thank you. Will see if someone else comes with a gift, lol.
I use a template with 3 intraday sessions for the Euro. If you apply the opening range twice, once to the European session (set all plots to transparent and opacity to zero) and once to the US session, that would do the trick.
Of course you will need to change your session template. But that is easier than to code a new indicator.
