Haha, I'd prefer you write a full sentence carefully explaining how genius my comedic input really is!
Please give Dan a call, I hate not knowing. I was about to send him an email myself, but a phone call would be better. I am quite self-conscious about my Norwegian accent, however, thus it is not an option for me to call.
I will call then, it's settled. Let's make a clear list of questions then...
1) Does AMP Trading have its own server(s) for its CQG offering or does it use CQG's existing infrastructure alone?
2) Why does AMP Trading have its own server(s) for its CQG offering as opposed to using CQG's existing infrastructure as most brokerages do that offer CQG Trader?
3) Is there any difference at all in quality (speed or accuracy) of AMP's CQG offering when compared to CQG's?
4) Are there any performance limits placed on AMP's CQG offering compared to CQG's?
Feel free to add to this list or suggest changes to the existing questions, so we might compile a comprehensive set of questions to answer.
Excellent! It will be good to get to the bottom of this once and for all.
I've seen several complaint of disconnects and other problems with Ninjatrader, but I've yet to experience this on IC or Trader. One must also leave open the possibility of NT being the problem, and not the CQG connection itself.
I think your list is fine, but others might have additional questions. I cannot think of any... But, as it is 4:17AM, I having difficulty thinking at all...
Velocity and AMP Futures do not provide the same type or level of access for CQG... AMP is using the API from NT7 ... Velocity is using CQG Trader and Integrated Client to offer access to CQG... one uses the CQG owned Gateways... (Velocity one) and the other uses AMP specific gateways...
at least from the settings that I have seen... anyhow, point is... not the same setup.. or product build per say... cant be compared.
AMP's CQG connection cannot be NT7 specific as it also drives CQG Trader. So, this issue remains unclear until someone discusses it definitively with Dan.
I might suggest a small change, since I am curious as well and CQG/AMP havent provided a clear answer..
1) Does AMP Trading have its own co-located server(s) @ CQG Data Centers for its offering or does it use CQG's existing infrastructure for its client to access from NinjaTrader? basically who owns and manages the gateway servers and where are they located.
not arguing that point, only arguing that AMP/Velocity are not the same offering... if you try to access a Velocity Setup of CQG Trader via NT7, it wont work.. period.. that is what I am referring to..more than likely CAST has an API setting that needs to be enabled for that to happen, and I would venture to say that AMP is the exclusive user for now..
