Hello,

Is it possible to backup or save as a template my personal instrument lists from "Instrument manager" a bit like a "chart template" or similar ?

I need to pass one instrument list from one computer to another and this list contains hundreds of custom symbols that I would like to avoid creating again, hence my request.

Thank you

THere are some file that you can pass individually from one computer to another. These include

-> indicators
-> strategies
-> chart templates
-> workspaces

You cannot pass instrument settings individually, but what you can try is to use the in-built backup function of NinjaTrader.

The backup can be created via -> File -> Utilities -> Backup.

If you include historical chart and trade data in your backup file, it will be huge. If you just include configuration files, NinjaScript files, templates and workspaces, you should be fine.

You can then copy that file to your new computer and if you are lucky it can be restored. I have never done this from one to another computer though.

If you already have data on your new computer that you want to keep, you need save the data in the directory My Documents \ NinjaTrader 7. Simply rename that directory before restoring the backup. If you have a virgin install of NT on your new machine this is not required.

You treated all my concerns. Thank you

Yeah it seems I only need the database.

"Please note that the database contains the following items: ATM Strategy templates, Session templates, Instrument Lists / Custom Instruments and historical trade execution data."

Did not know that it was in the database! I will it out try next time by making a backup of the database only, then reset all instruments and thenrestore the database. See whether my rollover dates are still there.

Of course I will make a complete backup first, just in case.
