Tiwsted nor not, I like having to be better next time.
$250k is easy. I lost that much more than once in my lifetime! But you, you fought it back. Or, allowed it back.
I was drinking once (not that I do that), in my 20's, had made some money by then...said one night fishing for blacktip sharks in 18" of water, somewhere off Summerland Key, on a 26' boat, 2am maybe, "Money is always flowing in and out, like the ocean. I only put myself into the flow".
Oh, man. Memories. I never wanted money. I wanted freedom. I HAD freedom. And then started wanting money... I have pictured truly "trading, places" as a reality show. Travel someplace, have to earn enough to go to the next... I have a garment bag that carries two 24" monitors perfectly.
Every day, less trees. Someday, I may be on Green Peace's most wanted list.
My parents had that setup. That was the upgrade from distilled. Today, my stepfather collects his water from a cave, into a series of storage tanks, thru a paper filter, then an untraviolet filter.
Love fishing, been such a big part of my life. Love getting away from reality and just sit there fishing with a clear head. Out of the madness of the world we live in today, fresh air, clear thoughts nothing better if you ask me
Not the same in the Uk, i fish rivers and lakes for carp (the fish you yanks despise lol) but i much prefer sea fishing in the warmer waters. So much more intense and fun
I’m off to Florida in September, going Daytona and Sarasota so i can get some fishing in. Hoping to catch some black tip`s and bull sharks, snook and tarpon
This is why i love "Fishing The Futures", apart from is not as relaxing as the real thing HA!
Hoping to one day move over to the USA, life long dream. Have to wait for my G/F to finish University/ Then i will get the ball rolling. Cannot wait
Nothing like reeling in the catch of the day, takes patience, tactics and well developed skills
" I will follow my rules, I will take my stops, I will be disciplined and i will work with the market....NOT AGAINST IT! Professional mind control is the key"
Ponderous. It sounds so innocent. I know for me, it means I am reluctant to believe in continuation. What is weird that I see, is I might believe a move will make it to a place, but instead of ride it al the way there, I set up camp and try to target the bounce. More scavenger type behaviour.
Hedvig, meanwhile, had the confidence and experience to pick a target so far off in the diatance, and stay with it. Many of us probably "puked it out" along the way, as he stated with such personality.
I made a post to him last night that was meant to suggest "cheers" and "I'm jealous", but went back this morning and removed the 2nd half. Not that I don't still wish I traded like that, but just not reallty the spirit I have tried to maintain here. I joke a lot more, get silly a lot more, but overall want this to be a journal of successes, learning, support.
Hedvig comes across to me a a real character; his occasional beer at what might be breakfast time in CA, the stories of a wilder youth, his ability to sustain himself as a trader his entire adult life. It brings up a deadly sin that I typically do not think of in myself; envy. I wish I had his confidence in a direction, his ability to "be right and sit tight" as Jesse Livermore put it.
I recall reading in some book about trading futures, how the profits could be like ice cubes in your hand. I would guess that any of us have experienced that al least once. And I say that with some sarcasm. In my recent post about the uero, I believed timing was everything. But possibly, that is true, but also falls into the category of the wrong dream. What is timing is everything had a more didtant perspective? What if it meant, "as long as possible"?
Even my focus today for a goal of $1000 brings with it the belief that it is easier to do in quick moves than longer time frames. Darting in and out, cleaning up the debris for the other traders.
I think we become so desparate to find something that works, it seems so easy to find something that doesn't, that we cling to it at first sight. Like a toddler with some new toy, crying if it is taken away. As that child matures into a man, that behavoiur hopefully matures along with him.
Greater reward with less risk means being willing to wait. Ponderous nature, indeed.
I have not really fished for 10 years probably. I have gone fishing a time or two, sailfish in 2008 off Canaveral, huge snapper off Turtle Cay in 2009, Cobia of Canaveral in 2010. Bas in a friend's lake a few weeks ago...But "fishing" to me used to be about the hunt itself, and today is more about the boat ride and th scenery.
I used to run out off the Keys, headed dead south, run for miles and miles, sitting in the tower. "Run & Gun" fishing. Dolphin was the target, but we'd occassionally bring up something less expected. One time thought we were hung up on the bottom, turned out to be a tuna. lol!
If you come, be sure to pay attention to the season, to ctahch the right fish your ods are much better in certain months. The Kyes blacktips in shallow water I believe was July. When the winter winds kicked up it was kingfish off the reef.
Funny, I was just thinking I would like to go the the UK. Never been. made it to Amsterdam as a layover from Africa. Closest I have ever gotten. They do make the best coffee.
