I am working on a strategy and want to know if it is possible to read a higher time frame i.e. 30 min. chart in a 5 min. chart.
I would like to filter my buy signals on a 5 min. chart when RSI on a 30 min. chart is moving up.

yes.

just add data2 in the same chart and run rsi off your 30 min data2.

there is a chapter in the manual on how to program multi-data series.

I needed to be more clear of what I intend to do, I am working on an automated trading strategy based on a 5 min. chart that gives me a lot of signals during the day but I want to be able to add a filter based on a higher time frame so the system only trades those signals that the higher time frame confirms.

IN MC add a 5 min chart as data 1 and a 30 min chart(hidden) as data2..
In MC the signals are always applied to data1 but you can use rsi(c data2,14) for your filter..
