Now Trade Navigator could be traded directly with the Rithmic data feed.

Thanks for the update on Rithmic being available through TradeNavigator. You guys at Optimus are on top of this stuff! I learned about it through you guys before Genesis! Thanks for sharing with the community.
To those who plan to use TradeNavigator to trade with live data, the addition of Rithmic data is a major plus in removing issues TN had with poor quality data.
Yes, Matt is always there to provide useful information, and is not hesitant to explain things on the phone or in email.
Veigaman,
this is the first I have heard that Trade Navigator has problems with poor inhouse data. Could you elaborate about the quality of their data? If their data feed is poor, that pretty much kills my interest in them. I am leaving Tradestation and why should I jump from one frying pan into another?
Regarding using Rithmic with Trade Navigator: I understand Rithmic is an awesome data feed, but primarily for order execution, and only secondarily to feed the charts. Using Trade Navigator with Rithmic, what would you do for historical data backfill or supplementary charts, such as Cash indexes?

First the good. There historical data is very good. The forex data is also very good. The only data issues i have had is on their delayed data feeds, and it was with the Gold and some Grains markets. I confirmed this by looking at my broker's data (high/low/close) and compared it to TN. Most of the time (99%) they match.
If their data feed is poor, that pretty much kills my interest in them. Since you are an ES trader, these problems might be not apply. I wouldn't say it is poor, as much as with certain data feeds, it's been known to have problems. In automated trading, this is a deal killer. With trading in longer time frames, it isn't a problem.
I am leaving Tradestation and why should I jump from one frying pan into another? I understand your hesitation. TN folks are very helpful and the charting is easy to learn and customize.

Using Trade Navigator with Rithmic, what would you do for historical data backfill or supplementary charts, such as Cash indexes? Historical data is great on price and tics. Ask them about the cash indexes...they probably have all of them.
Hope this helps! If you get Genesis and need some help with the setup, let me know or give me a call. I'll walk you through it.
I am a new member of Big Mikes. I was looking for a thread on Trade Navigator by Genesis and found this one. It has been dormant for awhile, but i hope to get some feedback if possible. There are 2 points of interest in the thread that i was actually looking for. One being coders for TN's trade sense and the second being brokers that offer superior data speed and execution.
I have been using TN for many years and think highly of it. I have used CQG and Tradestation over the years side by side and have always kept TN while letting the others go. All the comments by Locust, veigaman and mattz are right on target. I find the Quote board to one of the best features. If anyone is on the fence i would say go for it. As Locust points out though, Trade Sense does have it's limitations when compared to an open source such as Ninja.
My biggest issue is the lack of third party code writers and limited high end broker and technology partners. I am actually interviewing Ninja coders to convert my strategy and considering switching to that platform because of my frustration. I would prefer to stay with TN since i have so much time and $ already invested. So it is encouraging to see Rithmic now being a Genesis partner. I am wondering if anyone knows of any coders that provide service to the TN platform?? My objective is to automate my strategy. I currently clear threw Interactive Brokers. My goal is to take the code i have in Trade Sense clean it up add a couple more rules\filters and then add an automated trade management strategy. Currently i have to monitor the symbols\charts then manually enter orders into IB. This severely limits the amount of signals and symbols i can trade or follow.
If anyone out there knows of or is a proficient Trade Sense coder i would love to hear from them. Thanks for reading my long winded cry for help..
I have used Trade Navigator for more than one year before moving to another platform. It is not a platform I would recommend for trading because of position syncing issues. I also used it for backtesting and reviewed the individual trades and noticed some discrepancies in that some trades occurred on days the price did not trade in that range.
I like the charts and tools. Nice chart templates to save layouts. Easy to use and very clear to read. Data is expensive.
The system would hang up on me frequently. It is written for the old versions of windows and not Windows XP, Vista, or 7 even though it does run under these platforms. Each time the program is executed in Windows 7 the user is asked if the program is safe to run and changes the color settings.
I am also using the Trade Navigator. I am coding a lot with tradesense. So if someone is interrested I would like to code some strategies for you in tradesense. I am also using the Ninjatrader.
Same thing here. I almost got into TradeNavigator through PFGBest early last year before I went with NT7 thanks to futures.io (formerly BMT). Tried a trial and could clearly see it was still written using the Windows 9x API or at best the old MFC. With the same experience of hangups and lagging.
PFGBest supported TradeNavigator as one of their main platforms for years.
Infinity Futures continues to support TradeNavigator.

Hmmmm. Been with Rockwell for 3-4 weeks now. Will give my opinions under the Rockwell review area once I am able to! Need to get to 10 posts firsts for some reason! LMAO!
Hello Ironman,
Would you be interested in coding VSA into tradesense for me. I have both .afl and TOS codes. I am not a programmer, so could use your help.
Thanks,
