I notice that a lot of online brokers, especially the smaller, less known ones are starting to offer Level II quotes. Just2Trade even provides an API to pull this information. Zecco will also be starting in February and there are probably others supplying free quotes and time and sales as well. The question is how good are the data streams? I have heard IB does not deliver raw ticks, but only fraction of a second snapshots. Since you have to pay to get that, I would expect that J2T and Zecco's quotes would be of even lower resolution. Can anyone tell me about the quality of Zecco and J2T's Level 2 compared to the stream from a data provider such as IQFeed?

Update: The only way to get Time and Sales and Level 2 quotes through Just2Trade is through their JTrader program. There's no API so I fail to see the usefulness of the streaming feature. Does anyone know of a broker which offers free level 2 and time and sales (free assuming an initial deposit) that can be retrieved through an API?
