Hi,

I would like to make a transition from trading forex to trading futures. With risk associated in trading futures I would like to trade something that has a small tick size such as,

e-mini Dow (YM)
e-mini Crude (QM)
e-mini Euro (E7)

My concerns are,

liquidity
volatility
average trading range
range after RTH (especially on London open)

I appreciate if you can share your opinion. Thanks

transaction cost will eat you alive especially on E7, liquidity is also bad on non popular e-mini products, on the other hand providing liquidity on those instruments can be ok if you can get a membership to cut down your costs

Best thing to do is pull up a chart and look at the dom during the hours you want to trade. If there are at least 150+ contracts per side, then you should not have too much of a problem filling. If you are a chart trader, then you can also plot the bid/ask lines on your chart to help you gauge the potential quality of fills vs the last price. Regardless, I would start with limit orders and if they keep getting skipped, then try market orders and see how that goes.
