That's what I'm looking to do now. But it seems after they got bought out by Gain they got different folks added to the team or something. When I called to get some specifics and told them I was looking to sell options they connected me to a senior broker who said he had just joined the team at OEC ... and by the way, he was a CTA ... and by the way, he had a program that he could get clients into that he felt was better than just selling options. So it did make me leery when he kept pushing me to sign up and get into a full-service account with him right away.
That's just normal for them to try to talk you into a program that will make them more money. Now if they refuse to give you a contract limit that is reasonable, then that is time to worry.
Are you limited by OEC now on the number of contracts you can trade?
Yes I have read this tread but you mentioned you trade 18 different markets when I told you if you trade currency options when you replied that you don't, no worries though I guess I have to learn through doing it. Ron do you ever do a rollover like cordier does sometimes. Since you sell so far out a rollover could give you a lot of leeway.
If by rollover you mean rolling an option to a further OTM strike because the option you had on had doubled in price or another price point that was forcing you out of the position, then I would say it depends on the situation.
Last year I only had one losing trade that I had to trade out of. I did not reenter at a further OTM strike.
Or by rollover do you mean something else?
For a new trader I would recommend to not trade grains because they are so volatile, especially when they are at the current inflated prices.
ES, CL, RB, HO, NG, GC, KC, SB is mainly where I am trading now.
I put in a few orders to sell GC options today and had no takers. There's some room between the bid/ask because of the recent volatility and I was trying to sell for a little more but no dice. When you sell the GC options do you go for the current bid 'as is' or try to squeeze some more?
Bid/Ask in SI is even worse. Hard to read those sometimes.....
