I know it’s not the ideal answer, but please feel confident that FXCM is working on these types of issues and hopes to have a solution implemented soon!
Side note: I was a huge fan of Strategy Trader as well! I actually tested the platform a few years ago before it was provided for beta testing, and was amazed by its capabilities. I also agree that NinjaTrader is a fantastic addition to the current platforms available, maybe even better than ST!

Hi there
I have a life account with FXCM UK using Ninja Trader and and cant load CFD instruments on chart.
The CFD the are loaded on NT instrument list when change symbol on the chart NT error message Error on loading chart data.... unknow instrument symbol.
I have been in contact with FXCM UK support with out positive resolt, can you please look in to it.
There was a recent update that now gives access to CFD products through NinjaTrader (YAY!). Typically all that’s required is to update the version of NT you are using, here are the steps to do so:
1. Close all running applications.
2. Then from the Start menu select > Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs.
3. From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 7 and click Remove.
4. Then you will need to clear your internet browser cache and history. You will clear this from within your internet browser (INTERNET EXPLORER, go to: Tools > Options, delete cookies and files, clear history. MOZILLA: Firefox menu > Clear Recent History > Clear Now).
5. Reboot your machine.
6. Once these steps are completed, download release 12 for NT7 from this site: Download Update
Once updated, you should see the CFD products available in the Instrument Manager:
If you do not see the CFD products listed, please click on: tools > options > data tab > click on reset instruments. If you are still unable to see CFD products, please contact us for assistance.

Thank you for your support, all ready running with NT version ending .12.
Good news!! The problem was with my NT multi broker connection as been solve in part.
Using Kinetick as backup data feed with FXCM, i have to disable the backup option and the CFD instrument data get loaded correctly and then unable the backup data feed option with Kinetick so i can use tick chart for the currency symbols.
Just wish the FXCM data feed get faster soon.

I wasn’t aware of any issue using a backup data feed, so thank you for pointing that out. To answer your question, yes, FXCM is aware of the slow speeds with data loading through NinjaTrader. We are working on a permanent fix for it now, however as a temporary solution, we are offering FXCM NinjaTrader clients our Historical Data Downloader (HDD) for free. Please review this post to see complete details.
To summarize, all you need to get the HDD platform is to:
1. Have an FXCM NinjaTrader account with over $5,000 balance
2. Email [email protected] with your name, email address and account number
Once the balance requirement has been confirmed, you will be emailed the installer and registration key for the HDD platform. This platform allows you to download all price history that FXCM has! Please review this post to see how it works.

We have received some client feedback that downloading data through NT is faster than it was previously. We are still working to improve it further, and unfortunately I don’t have a timeline of when that can be expected.
With that, we are still offering the promo for the HDD platform. The post above provides details for how to get the HDD platform.
