Is there anyone out there that might be able to recode a indicator that is on Meta Trader into a Ninja zip file. The indicator is the Tick Volume Indicator v2.
It is located at this link: http://codebase.mql4.com/7980
This is the way it looks: http://screencast.com/t/8gDZKND0KxP
Tulanch,
Attached are 2 screenshots showing the indicator in use. I am running a chart that has a cumulative TICK indicator, that is based of Michael Gutmann's indicator from his book. That is the top panel and shows the steadily declining value for this morning's selloff, 2/3/14.
I am running your indicator, in panel 2, to produce a histogram of the TICK. As you can see in the first chart, the indicator drops down to almost no outcome on live trading. When I reload the historical data, which is the second chart, the indicator prints the correct historical bars. Can you advise what I am doing wrong with settings that the indicator doesn't run live.
I think I fixed it. I had a transparent ES chart running in the background. In Gutmann's book, he uses the indicator laid over an ES chart, doing so by creating a chart running both the ES and TICK data series. When I run just the TICK alone, I no longer have the problem of the chart not running until a data reload.
This is not resolved as I thought it was. I have the chart now running with just the NYSE tick. I have the TVI running off the median value of the 1 minute bar. Ninjatrader running DTN IQFeed data. Like the above images, the output from the indicator goes down to nothing and then repopulates when I reload historical data.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
