Hi,
I have question about about switching NQ to QQQ. I have a strategy for NQ but doe to tax policy I'm not able to trade futures. This problem will soon be solved, but in the meanwhile I'm curious about trading QQQ with the same strategy. Positions will be hold approximately 2-5 days. Is there any pitfalls for trading ETF's, that future trader should know?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
qqq and nq will track each other almost perfectly. IMO, NQ is easier to trade after hours but if you are holding for a few days it shouldn't matter. Also there are taxation differences for Americans, but since you are from Finland I don't think these differences will apply to you. Just make sure to understand your sizing. I believe 1 NQ is equal to 800 QQQ.
If you have a consistent system for capturing 2-5 day QQQ swings then you don't have to worry about any sophisticated options strategies. Just utilize my easy 3-step program:
1. Buy at-the-money Calls or Puts as indicated by your system.
2. Sit back and have a few beers.
3. Profit
Yea, I get that much But i should adjust money management and that kind of stuffs. Not sure which one is more profitable, trading futures or trading options with that strategy.
