Hi Guys,

I've written a RadarScreen indicator which scans all the S&P500 stocks for various 5-minute-period candlestick patterns which works fine.

What I can't figure out is how to get the indicator to scan only when the S&P500 etf (SPY) volume increases above its 50-period moving average.

I'm new to tradestation, but I feel that it requires just a couple of lines of code.

Can you help please.

Kitewind,

you would need to use a second datastream for this and this is where it becomes a bit more advanced when it comes to Radarscreen. The reason is that you can't use a second datastream directly in Radarscreen like you can on a chart. You could send in the values using for example Global Variables or EasyLanguage Collections or you can access the values you need via OOEL using the PriceSeriesProvider objects.

Regards,

ABCTG

Hi ABCTG,

Thanks for the pointer.

Can you please help a bit more? Can you provide any example code for anything similar that you may have used or be aware off, for any of your possible solutions.

Or, where do I get a manual with example code?

Thanks again,
Kitewind

Hi kitewind,

you can find a ton of examples in the Tradestation forum and wiki. You can also download the manuals for Global Variables and EasyLanguage Collections there.
