Curious what others think on this -- do you prefer to chart the midpoint price between the bid/ask or just the bid prices. It seems to me midpoint would provide a more accurate chart but maybe I'm wrong.

I think FXCM actually gives you the last price in which a trade was made but IB only offers bid, ask, or midpoint.

I'm using midpoint charts too - its more representative than either bid or ask charts. Its not uncommon in other asset classes with dealer markets w/o last traded price information too.

It's best to toggle between bid / ask to get a true depiction of s/r lines. Maybe there can be a hybrid like you see with next generation renko bars that provide the user a high or low tails that go beyond the midpoint to give a more precise result.

either use midpoint or plot all.
