Hi there

I am looking for a way to pre-enter a limit order at a specified Price (e.g. by typing the price or by drag and drop), but only really submit it to the broker after clicking a button or hitting a key.

As I am watching certain price levels and observing the tape, I need a fast way to enter orders, but can't really submit the orders to the brokes beforehand as the tape action might suddenly tell me not to enter.

Am I missing some NT functionalities, or what other Solutions are out there?

Cheers,
Chris

There are several alternative.

I currently use 9G and it's order entry is quick and easy.
(I am not affiliated with them but only use the product)

I have used other methods including some created on NexusFi (formerly BMT).
I think you can check "Chart Trader" or similar searches on NexusFi (formerly BMT) to find some.
Each has good things but you can decide what fits your style.

If ChartTrader is enabled (doesn't have to be visible) you can just right mouse in the chart and pick an entry off the menu, it will go in at the price you clicked on.

What you describe "clicking a button" is as fast as it takes to submit an order in the SuperDOM. Can't you put your mouse over the price you wish to submit the order, then once your conditions are met you click the mouse?

Clicking the Dynamic SuperDOM in Ninjatrader is too risky: if price moves in fast markets the second your brain decided to press the button, you're entering an order at a price you may not like...

Go to Tools>Options... select "Confirm Order Placement"

Next time you place a limit order a dialog will pop up asking:

Do you want to place this order?
Sell limit 1 contract(s) ES 03-15 @ 2095.75

You click Yes or No when the order flow goes as expected.

Thanks for the clarification. The static SuperDOM will then better suit your needs albeit there is an additional cost of $0.10 per contract which is passed through to Trading Technologies, the patent holder for this type of interface. As ratfink stated, Chart Trader might be an option as well. Another alternative might be the basic entry window, you can specify the order type and price in advance and then just press the BUY/SELL button when you are ready to submit the order.
