I'm re-evaluating Ninjatrader for purchase. I read on another thread that NT will be integrating Cloud Services. I'm not sure what this means. If I purchase NT, will the program eventually be a "CLOUD-ONLY" web-based program? That will be a deal-killer for me.

Thank you for responding if you know the answer.

That sounds more like speculation. The NT program architecture just got upgraded after so many years. Cloud based means they re-write it again in HTML5 like Xtrader.

Or, you may be confusing it with the NT "mobile" which may or may not be offered free to licensed NT users.

NT will offer the ability to check on your trades using their "cloud". this will allow users to check on their systems from phones etc...

they have no made any statements that i've seen about becoming a 'cloud only' platform.

NinjaTrader 8 is a desktop platform and is not going away. In simple terms, we have made changes incorporated into NinjaTrader 8 that will allow NinjaTrader Brokerage to provide a richer user experience once cloud services are released which can include but are not limited to:
  • Running ATM strategies server side
  • NinjaTrader Web
  • NinjaTrader Mobile
  • Integrated brokerage statements with the platform and ability to run a host of analysis on it
  • Server side storage of user data such as templates, config files etc..

Although development is working on these features now it will be way off in the future before its available.
