I'd like to start writing trading systems. I don't know which platform/code I should start using.
NinjaTrader seems to require mastery of a code that's very similar to C# and that seems like a very daunting task for someone like me who doesn't know how to program at all (for now).
I had the impression that maybe EasyLanguage might be easier.
What would be your suggestions?

Get a copy of the magazine Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities. Every month, they take an article, and code it in different languages, such as Ninja, Tradestation, Amibroker, etc.
Take a look at the examples, and see how they code the same thing. You'll probably see one that makes sense right away, and maybe then investigate that piece of software...
There are a few tools that allow you to test your idea, without writing code
taking into account, you're not a programmer,
that might be a valid track
(i don't use any of those tools, so i will refrain from naming them,
but some users might be able to share their experience with those tools
i'm not talking about fancy indicators, i'm talking about GUI driven tools
that allow you to combine conditions and generate code, NT has some
basic features built-in, but i was not able to do big thing with that
i'm more a low-level programmer myself)
Depending on the complexity of your ideas, that might be the fastest track to get somewhere
once the $$$ are rolling in ;-) you might seek assistance from a programmer
I was in the exact same situation as you on January of this year.
I did quite a bit of research on the subject and decided on Tradestation and Easylanguage. I never programmed anything on another format, so I can't compare them but I can share my experience...
I'm not a computer junkie. So even its name is "Easylanguage", it wasn't so easy for me. But you have so much resources. Tradestation's Essentials or Reserved Words PDFs might be all you need. I know traders whom just used these two PDFs and they're really good programmers. Since I absolutely had no experience with programming, I wanted to start with more basic stuff to grasp the idea of EZL and programming, so I bought a book from Amazon and another PDF from a 3rd party vendor which were both helpful. Also there are many many websites where you can learn tips and tricks of EZL for free.
My point is, EZL is commonly used by thousands of traders and you can find information and training quite easily. You can also get free support from TS forum.
Many system trading gurus argue that simple systems work better in the long run. So we don't have to be really good programmers to be able to write profitable systems.
hello Giorrgi......welcome to NexusFi......I think if you are interested in Programming Systems, but have no experience, or knowledge of Coding it would be best to take @rleplae advice.
You can try to learn a language to code with, but it will take time to learn.
As for what Language to try to learn you would need to match that up to your Preferred Platform , which i see you are trying to figure.
If your goal is to Develope and Test Automated Systems Quickly...then go with @rleplae advice...those type tools/software will also Generate the Code so you can look at it, and learn to Code in that way.
