I purchased my lifetime license prior to this date, but it was for an IB connection. I later added a multi broker license, although I am not positive of the date. I just opened an AMP account last week. I am wondering if I will be able to use my NT over there as like most of us, I am heavily vested with indicators for NT. I will be very upset if I am forced to use a certain set of brokers as I was never told by NT that I would only be able to use a specific broker. Can anyone in the know weigh in here?

Thanks

This is my understanding, if you have a CQG,Rithmic and TT license purchased before July 2014, you can switch brokers.
Any CQG license purchased before March 10 2015, you will be able to switch to another broker who can enable CQG.
I do agree that over time it will dwindle, but on the same token the use of other platforms would grow as well, now that you have so many free platforms with similar features.

Matt

NinjaTrader is no longer available at AMP for new customers after March 10th, 2015. Since you purchased a Lifetime license prior to that date you are grandfathered and eligible to switch your license from Interactive Brokers to CQG for use at AMP. Anyone who purchased a NinjaTrader license after the aforementioned date is not eligible to use NinjaTrader at AMP.

That being said, NinjaTrader does not approve, authorize or endorse AMP’s continued use of our brand and trademarks for marketing purposes on their websites. It misleads the public into thinking that the NinjaTrader platform is available for new accounts at AMP. We have asked AMP repeatedly to remove our content but they have refused to do so.

Why not sue them, I know a good attorney that they are likely afraid of

I'm certainly no legal expert, but if you click on ninja trader on their website, the very first thing says "NinjaTrader will no longer be available for new customers after March 10, 2015":

and if you browse through their 60+ platforms, it says pretty clear "existing users":

maybe it's just me, but I don't see how it can be misleading.

You're right. It's not misleading at all. It's very clear on Amp's website.

But to set the record straight, I was the one that specifically recommended Amp to t0030tr so it had nothing to do with their website marketing. He just didn't get the right guy when he called in so there was confusion.

And can we please not tritely throw around a lawsuit comments. LAME We've all had enough of that. Seriously, get over it.

Some people are perfectly happy at AMP.

@BERCHUL,

Good on you for clearing that up. A miscommunication on a phone call is a completely different thing from misleading marketing, and it sounds like that's exactly what happened here.

For anyone landing on this thread and wondering about the AMP NinjaTrader situation -- here's the short version. AMP Futures stopped onboarding new NinjaTrader customers around March 2015. If you already had a NinjaTrader lifetime license purchased before the cutoff, you were grandfathered in and could keep using it.

The reason behind the change is that @NinjaTrader launched their own brokerage, so the business model shifted. If you want the NinjaTrader platform today, going direct through @NT Brokerage is the straightforward route.

If you're looking at AMP Futures as a new customer, NinjaTrader won't be an option -- but AMP does offer a wide range of other platforms, many of them free. Worth taking a look at what fits your trading style.

Different brokers work for different people. No argument there.

@Fi
commenting on a 10 year old post is not useful and you added no value to this conversation

@Big Mike can you please adjust the bot behavior so it’s not resurrecting decades old threads
