Does anybody know anything about Stator for journaling; and how it might compare to Tradervue. To me Tradervue seems like the superior product is there anything else that is comparable? The one beef I have with Tradervue is that it is subscription based, I would rather just pay to own something. thanks fellas

Hi Mackypinky, did you find anything better than tradervue? Not sure if I am allowed to post links here but try trademetria.com. In my opinion, they are much better.

Tradervue is absolutely fantastic, in my opinion. It's a little plain from a UI perspective but (the highest tier) provides some awesome stats and charts and importing trades is easy (assuming your broker is supported). It gets updated frequently and their support is extremely responsive. The free tier is a bit too restricted, so if you are going to give it a shot pay for the top tier for a month or two.

I use a combination of my journal here on fio and Excel.

The fio journal is based on a template that I borrowed from SoftSoap.
The template is evolving, and it's sort of checklist, gradebook, and set of questions.

The spreadsheet is also evolving, and it contains my proprietary prep-trade checklist items. So the checklist and the trade record are integrated into one.

The combination of the two has vastly helped my trading.

One journal: the one here on fio (as @suko mentions).

Then make an ongoing spreadsheet to keep an eye on your performance - squeeze some statistics
out of it like gain/loss on every weekday - you will be thrilled to know the truth! And of course every
weekly, monthly and yearly gains - to compare.

For the written / screen-grabs portion of my journal I've been using Zim Wiki for years. Keep my trading notes and journal on my local storage. Copy and paste up to to NexusFi.

I use excel, and Microsoft OneNote.

Excel like most other, keeping track of trade details i copy & paster from Tradestation Trade Manager tab. then i have additional column to record a variety of technical identifier and readings which formulated into a simple scoreboard ( which double as a checklist).

OneNote is like a big flip charts with mini flipchart so i can keeping track on all markets i trade and i record each decision making, whether or not a signal taken, and all the trade management afterwards.

the thing i like is i can easily trace back all the decision making moment by simply look for the date and market. even just using a search function to look for any hashtag/keywords or even order/transaction number if i hv put it in.

Each month i open up a new file and all of these are saved both on Onedrive and my laptop. coming to 20gb now so some of those i had moved over to google drive as onedrive running out of space.
