Just wanted to thank Big Mike and all participants for the opportunity to interact with you on the site.
My experience is very much like Big Mike's comments about large losses-----but the tenacity and persistence to keep at it. To give credit where credit is due--Mark Cook was very helpful to me in one of those dark hours--and I would like to thank him as well---
Hello Friends,
My name is Terryl; I am from Alaska and live in Thailand mostly. I have been slowly learning and trading for several years now. I really enjoy it and enjoy learning about it all. Mostly I am interested in trading currencies and grains.
Good luck!
Happy to find this great forum. I am hobby trader, i really like to trade and step buy step i try to grow up to a professional trader i have experience since 2 years but mostly cfds forex now since few month i'am learning future trading with market profile and soon i will buy jigsaw and will combine it.. So thats it.
I have been subscribed to this forum for 1101 days and just posting my first message today. I know, I know, shame on me.
The fact is that, when I joined, I did it more out of curiosity about how traders from other planets (i.e. futures) view life. I had been a stock/options trader for a while and managed to almost blow my account until I decided to stop for over a year to regroup and focus on my day job as Software Engineer.
All that time I was a little hesitant of going into futures as I thought it was much riskier. This year I decided to switch gears and go head on to learn, read as much as I can, plan, and, to my surprise, profitably SIM trade for about three months now. Still making mistakes but disciplined to keep a journal so I can exactly put my finger on what I have done wrong.
I have been focusing more on learning risk management techniques as I realized that has been my Achilles heel all along so I plan to start live trading soon with very small positions.
Ok, that's it for now but hope I will be posting more soon.
Thanks a lot for the wisdom I have seen shared in this site.
Hi serial traders out there,
I lost evrything in the 2008 financial crisis. House, shares, marrage and just about the shirt off my back. Im still paying it off. Many years to go but still optamistic! Im still here and hungry for some payback.....even though I know it does not work like that.
There is one thing that cant be broken.......the desire to trade!!
Hi all, I've been trading forex now on and off for 5 years. Overall I'm 200% up on my
Original investment but not without a roller coaster of a ride. Im a little experienced in
Coding in the following languages c++, lua and pascal. I'm currently on the quest to write
a strategy for Harmonic pattern recognition and would appreciate any help or guidance along the
Way. I'm finding the the patterns very helpful in trading and as I'm working full time with a large
Family I see a great advantage in having the computer do all the chart scanning for me and
Send a notification so I can choose whether to pull the trigger or not based around market Volatility and Conditions.
I've also like some others have been a member for 800+ days and can only apologise for not adding
My first post before. To be honest I have tried to but not found the site very Straight forward to use.
Maybe it's evolved slightly from those days and certainly the biggest reason is family time and distraction.
My apologies!!!
Hello everyone.
I am new to future trading but not new to trading in general. I am now starting to learn about future so that I will be able to trade with confidence. I will take it really slow before I jump in with my both feet in Futures. Peace!
I joined because I am currently doing what I can do find a suitable income stream using the network, ideas and knowledge wherever I can find them.
I have had some experiences with trading. Made money and then lost some in Stocks (1991), Indices(2001), Options (2002) and Forex(2007). Been looking for a better financial and personal solution.
I am just looking to make good on what I think can be done (trading for a living) and appreciate the people who have set up this forum for the many many sharings.
I am new to Futures and am interested in the emini S&P for now and am looking into a day trading strategy involving volume based chart.
Thank you and I hope to get to know more as I immerse myself more on what is happening here.
