Hey guys,

I'm fighting with the charts in TWS and can't get it to work.
Basically I want to have my charts in black and white bars with a white or very light gray background. Easy to get done in any platform I've used before, but in TWS it keeps changing the bg color automatically every time I set the bar up to white. It seems to automatically control what types of combinations I can make and what types I can't.

Does anyone have any guidance on this?

You can can the theme to light. This will not make everything light like the bar window but should help a little.

As for the bar color, you can right click on a bar and click "Change Bar Color". I don't know if this will do it to all bars though.

Thanks, IB notified me that what I wanted is not possible. They do an automated check to see if bar colors match background colors too much and if so, they change the background color automatically.

I've switched to Ninjatrader now and have exactly the chart lay-out I want.

I can confirm that it is not possible. Changing back to black if I try to use white as background and text color.
