Im in the process of switching platforms and deciding between Sierra Charts and NT8 and I am trying to figure some things out; What is the best way to switch between multiple instruments? I trade forex and some commodities and need to be able to switch easily and quick between around 20 25 instruments. Every Tab/workspace need to have multiple timeframes and some indicators, with zones and SR drawn.
Cheers,
Giacomo
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I am using an indicator that adds buttons to the chart that allows to jump to another workspace in NT7
maybe somebody is interested in converting it for NT8
Sierra:
Define-add a chartbook for symbol xyz then open as many charts you want inside that chartbook and indicators for each chart. You do the same procedure for as many xyz symbols you want and then you can switch between the chartbooks via click each chartbook's own TAB(which can be renamed also as you like) which is located below or above in your screen. So.. one click process and all charts are preloaded ...meaning that you don't wait for charts to be loaded....and all the above with consuming very small RAM recources. Go check infinity futures you tube channel for a tone of videos
I think there is a limitation of how many chartbook inside sierra you can add but don't remember the number....around 50 or so....(other member can correct me)
Haha yeah it seems I will have to go with Sierra. Ill be testing them both this month and make my decision. I'm a cheap bastard right now though and I can use ninjatrader for free with FXCM, not sure if with SierraCharts it's the same.
I read somewhere I think , dnt ask me where, that Big Mike has 75 tabs open.
A. You want to switch Group A (25 instruments) to Group B (a different 25 instruments) OR
B. You want to switch a chart from Instrument A to Instrument B where A/B are part of a group of around 25 instruments?

B. I want to have tabs or something similar where on each different tab I have 1 instrument, let's say for example AUDUSD on tab 1 with the different timeframe charts AUDUSD and indicators. Tab 2 we have usdcad with different charts and indicators etc. So I can switch instruments with the click of a button and all the charts and indicators are loaded.
