Since in your case all you care about is the data, the choice of FCM's basically doesn't matter at all.
If you ever use NT for trading, then the choice might, but I don't know how to differentiate them, or if there would be a big difference. Probably there would not. Lots of people use NT Brokerage, and I don't recall any comments here on NexusFi about either one, frankly.
I use TOS and Sierra Charts as my charting / indicator platforms, but the majority of my order entry is directly via DOM, so I'm somewhat in the same situation as you.
It's a bit confusing at first with all of the components if you're used to TOS / TDA as I went through the same thing.
I'd recommend you take a good look at Sierra Charts, it's an unbeatable charting platform and has everything you can imagine when it comes to Market Profile, Volume Profile, indicators, charts, etc. The power, speed and flexibility of Sierra Charts is nothing short of amazing.
It's also very reasonably priced (you'll need the "Level 5" package for MP / VP) and you'll also need a datafeed to power the charts. If you pay a year in advance you can also get a discount, but do be aware there is a decent learning curve, but once you're past that it's all smooth sailing.
I'd recommend opening a separate brokerage account with Rithmic as the datafeed and using that to power the Sierra Charts and start using R | Trader to enter orders. You can always have TOS open as well, that's exactly what I do and it works well.
If you have any specific ?'s or need a referral to a broker, feel free to PM me.

That was incredibly well said. I am coming from Fidelity so there was a sense of being overwhelmed with the a la carte menu. I spent months reading reviews, trialing software, checking options with each and more reviews. I tested NT since that seemed to be the popular choice. But as I dug into it, you end up needing to buy third party or develop a lot of indicators. Suddenly, the price tag goes through the roof and they aren't guaranteed by NT. It is strictly buyer beware and they are futures only so you can't trade pairs with an ETF or park cash in a stock. Once I demoed Sierra Chart I found real value. The ability to develop your own indicators, and an array of stock indicators that would cost thousands on NT, done deal. I found NexusFi to be essential to provide candid insights in various products and vendors. The other great find in three pages is Optimus who has spent a significant amount of time walking me through a complex process.
