but what kind of latency or speed do you need and hope to get from Boise? If you are a retail trader trying to establish "speed" as your edge or an element of your edge, regrettably you might be making an error. Especially from Boise. Other forum members might be able to help you better than I.

I meant TWS GUI and charts load slow. I don't care how fast an order is transmitted.

I always get great assistance when I call IB. 1-877-442-2757, option 5 for tech, then option 2 for software operation.

I have TWS on a virtual Linux machine and it doesn't make any difference regarding gui speed.

I run TWS on KDE Neon. I don't know how anyone who ever would use Plasma could go back to Windows. It is like Windows from a different dimension in the best way possible.

It is faster than windows 10 for sure so even if the java is the same speed you get the overall responsiveness.

Windows 10 is just unusable IMO.

Dolphin with a bash console is so much better than windows explorer that just that alone is worth switching.

using TWS on Linux Mint and works fine. Dont use windows if you can avoid it as linux is much cleaner and not as bloated with the hundred of processes that windows runs.

It is incredible when I boot into WIndows how you can always hear the drive being written too compared to Ubuntu basically never writing to the drive.

I used Mint for years until they dumped KDE.
