there're several ways to achieve this. an indicator is certainly an option. I use the opening range indicator for that purpose (just select the whole rth session as the opening range).
you can solve that little problem by adding a secondary bar series as explained in the above link. or you could of course buy the premium version of the opening range indicator. this version has already included a secondary bar series.
there're other indicators available to display the rth session, but the above mentioned problem exists for all of them.
another option is to use a custom session template.
attached is an example (cme us index futures) for that kind of session template. you need to copy that file in ninja trader 8 > templates > trading hours.
I copied the template, but now when I select it, I have two of them in that drop down box, the names are exactly the same, "CME US Index Futures." I've tried both, but I don't see a vertical line like in your image when using either of them. Any ideas?
You could try the following indicator. I knocked it up a while ago because I wanted to plot the RTH session times over the ETH chart. So you need to enter the times you need as parameters. I didnt expose the colours of the session lines as I didn't need to change them. So if you want to change the colours of line types you would need to open the code in the editor and change and recompile the indicator.
Thank you...Speaking of opening the editor, I remember a while ago when I tried Ninja 8 and did not have a Ninja Brokerage account, I was able to open the editor. Last week I opened an account, but the editor is disabled. It seems that it is only available in a paid version.
Yesterday, after installing a bunch of indicators, I got this error message. It seems that the only way to fix it is to remove Ninja and install it again. Or is there a workaround? Can Ninja support login remotely and fix it? I sent them an email, haven't heard back yet.
