I am, give or take, just starting out. I am looking for suggestions on the best trading course.
Ideally, I'd like a mentor to talk with on a daily basis, also, if that is possible.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Ken

Before you start trading make sure to understand the product you like to trade. If that is futures, this free course from CME is a good start: https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/why-futures.html

The only course I ever took was a Ken Rogers mail order course back in the late nineties. I learned just enough to get an understanding of futures, but my real education came from books. Here are some of the authors I've read:
  • George Kleinman (for a good introduction to futures and great advice on money/risk management)
  • Jesse Livermore (anything by or about him, just for the history)
  • Jim Rogers
  • Alexander Elder (I had mixed results, but still useful)
  • Larry Williams
  • Van Tharp... delves into psychology/mental state, position sizing
  • John Ehlers.... he is who I'm reading now.....some advanced topics on filtering and smoothing of indicators
I know some people around here use Earn2Trade, but I can't speak for that. It might be an option.

As far as a mentor, your best bet would be to just ask questions here as you are learning the trade (no pun intended). You have a few thousand traders here with varying levels for experience, from brand new to master traders. In other words, a whole lot of mentors. We have all been the noob and even the most experienced (and wise) traders will tell you they are still learning. Mentoring is a personal relationship that can take a long time to develop and a lot of traders are notoriously solitary creatures. Just getting to know people around here and contributing whatever you can will help you find mentors willing to help.

If you're looking at trying trading "courses", I'd suggest every newcomer to at least visit https://www.tradingschools.org and their hundreds of scrutinizing reviews of present and past trading "gurus", courses and "academies". After reading about 30 or more reviews, you get the "industry pattern" of how these vendors operate. Then with luck you may have a better idea of where to economically find info to help develop your trading strategies.
