I’m still in the first stages myself, but I still would offer this:
1. Trading is hard. Not like working in a lumber mill “hard”, but hard because it requires dedication to learning the craft.
2. Trading is humbling. Just when you think you’ve learned something you get smacked down. Then you get up and start again.
3. There is not just one magic way to successfully trade. Pay attention to successful traders because you can always learn something.
4. Use the community here. There are beginners just like you and me and traders with decades of experience and most are willing to help as long as you are willing to listen.
5. Don’t plunk down big bucks for anybody’s magic system until you ask this group. Somebody here has probably taken the course and can tell you if it is crap or good stuff. And there’s a lot of good stuff out there, but also a ton of crap.
6. Use protective stops and good money management. No matter what happens in a trading day, you must survive so you can trade tomorrow.
Best of luck to you!
Mike
