I'm new to NinjaTrader 8 and I created a strategy for entries and exits on a chart that uses something similar to Renko Bars. I cannot get any results during backtesting. I must be missing something obvious in the setup and I'm hoping someone can tell me what it is. I attached the code here.
Trading: 6C (Low Margin,) 6E, CL, GC, ES and Maybe DX for smaller tick value

@greene828, Strategy Builder may be easier to trouble shoot with the actual strategy file. Unfortunately it appears you are using a custom bar type.
First thing I would do is try using a standard renko or Unirenko to confirm logic is correct for an entry. Attach the strategy file here and I will try to trouble shoot using SB and strategy analyzer and back test.
Strategy or automation of the decision process has become the focus of many traders. The markets seem to have proven to be too complex for the standard human to outsmart. Emotions or psychology seem to prove to be the undoing of many.
NinjaTraderrenko bars or UniRenko bars are not backtestable, because these bars show fake highs, fake lows and fake opens. Moreover they insert fake bars with zero volume to fill gaps.
If you tell us "something similar to Renko Bars", what exactly is it?
