If you use the second option the data between 09:29 and 09:30 will not be displayed, as the last bar of the prior session closes at 9:29:00. The first bar of the next session only starts at 09:30:00, so you have created an artificial gap.
NT7 Beta 23 allows you to access the newer high quality ZenFire data feed. It has proven to greatly superior to the old feed in my opinion. This feed is not available in NT6.5. I tried to access it and could not.
I recommend adding the new feed connection in NT7 Beta23. However, Don't delete the old connection. This allows you access to either ZenFire server.
The main difference between NT6.5 and NT7.0 is the format of the database. NT 7.0 allows you to access the data for each single contract. For example, if you trade CL 12-10, I can easily copy the minute data file from my data base
-> Own Documents -> NinjaTrader 7 -> db -> minute -> CL 12-10
and send it to you. For NT 6.5 it was not possible to just to copy bits and pieces of the data base or edit them to remove spikes or otherwise change data. So in NT 6.5 it was only one huge data bnase full of crap without any options to correct false data.
So in the end it is not important how much data you download, you can easily add data by asking one of your buddies.
You can select to display the second data series on the same panel as the first data series. Then just set your candles and candle outlines to transparent, and for sure it will be invisible.
I have used this for the dValueArea indicator. I wanted to use it on a 30 min chart, but with the higher resolution of a 1 min chart. So all I needed to do:
First dataseries: ES 30 min
Second dataseries: ES 1 min (same panel, transparent)
Then apply dValueArea to second data series and it shows the high resolution you want!
WOW guys! you're making my mind spin too fast ;-) How do i select the newer high quality ZenFire data feed in NT7 as i only see the regular Zen-Fire provider in the dialog ?
Rjay, after upgrading to NT7 Beta23 i did not need to recreate my connection as it was still there. If i read you correctly, even though the connection i had defined was preserved during the update procedure, i still need to create a new one with a different title, is this correct ? Curious we need to do this, shouldn't the update take care of this automatically ?
How can we check if we are connected to the old Zen-Fire servers vs the new servers ?
