Many of the TS indicators come with built-in Displace input ~ quite useful. So I thought I might try to build displace into a strategy ~ but I can't find any examples of how to do this. Is this possible? If so can anyone provide some sample code?

Thanks

Just came about that same question and didn't find any answers so far.
For example if i want to use Ishimoku as an example, where senkouspan is displaced:

Code
plot4[-SenkouB / 2]( SA, "Senkou Span A" );
plot5[-SenkouB / 2]( SB, "Senkou Span B" );
and would like to use this in strategy, something like: if price crosses above SA then.... But in this case it uses SA without displacement. Is there any solution to this?

avasfx,

plot displacement is purely visual for the Ichimoku Cloud. The current bar's value is simply shifted to the right by X bars. It all comes down to what value you need for your strategy and you can make things easier for you to see if you simply remove the displacement in the indicator and apply it to a chart.

avasfx,

it depends on what value you are looking for for the cloud. Keep in mind that the displacement is visual and when you shift plot values to the right i.e. into the future this simply means that the value on the current bar is actually the cloud value from X bars ago. Where X corresponds displacement input. So to use the value of the cloud from the current bar, you have to access the cloud value from X bars ago.
Depending on the Ichimoku code that you are using you might be able to use the cloud variables as they are or you might have to back reference them.

Regards,

ABCTG
