I'm not ignoring your suggestion. Instead of posting my YouTube URL in this thread, I added my blog information in my profile. I'd like to respect your guideline that members should not advertise. If one chooses to visit my blog, it's a different story. Thank you.
I like the second video especially. I think that's the first video I have seen that makes more than a token effort to cover the topic. Hopefully people will watch it and save themselves some grief and moolah.
wgreenie, again I have much respect for your efforts.
I think going on the educational 'learn how to trade' path is a mistake.
You are not a consistent profitable trader and you are definitely not there. Why are you going into the responsibility of teaching people how to trade ? Will you tell them : I'm not really profitable but listen to me so you will not make my same mistakes and you can get there ? Sorry, doesn't sound like a good plan. Do you want to learn something from somebody who did not yet succeed ? I'm not getting it.
We're blaming almost any educational vendor in this business that he's making money out of his educational work but not from his trading and yet I see you doing the same thing. I have to say to you, sorry but I don't agree with you now.
I understand that with all the efforts you have put into it you are knowledgeable about retail trading, but you are failing, how are you going to learn people something that you didn't succeed in achieving yourself ?
You are still too much searching and changing, it will be confusing for your students and in the end you will leave them frustrated. It will hurt you also having to deal with these confrontations. I think you could be a great teacher and mentor, but not yet. You need to hang on and work on it more before helping others.
I disagree with what @MetalTrade has said. I don't believe Beth has said her new venture is for-profit (ie: selling something).
I've always said that one of the best ways to improve your own trading is to coach a few students. As soon as you start to explain things or answer questions, you will likely start to question some of your own beliefs. And since I believe trading is more about psychology than method, it is the answers to these questions that are usually the most important. So it can bolster your own convictions, giving you the confidence boost you need to see it through, or it can make you realize you've made mistakes or misjudged things and need to reevaluate your positions.
Regarding what most trading vendors do and their business practices -- I do not debate that MetalTrade is correct, it seems a large number of trading vendors go to great lengths to deceive their customers, only sharing or posting information that puts them in good light, some even going as far as coming up with grandiose claims of profit when it would be clear to any experience trader those profits are impossible.
I do not believe for a second this is what Beth is doing or plans to do, but obviously it is best to let her answer those questions. It should also be said that there are those vendors who do care about their customers and students and go to great lengths to actually help them as much as possible.
I for one think that Beth's new videos and looking to share what she has learned is a positive move in the right direction for her.
some people like to learn in private others do well when being under public scrutiny the video is more of self documentary than teaching people how to trade.
Looking at the videos and hearing what wgreenie explains. it is clearly to learn how to trade with her rules and guidelines. I didn't heard her say that she wasn't profitable. If you listen to those videos you will assume that she's profitable, like all mentors in this business. That's her choice and she has all rights to do so. I just stated that I don't think that it's desirable to do if you're still facing too much trading demons yourself. It's a false signal you're giving.

I am NOT teaching people how to trade or what to trade. I'm hoping that newcomers will not repeat the mistakes I made especially never-ending search of a profitable system with magical indicators .. thinking a day trading room may do the magic .. having too much trust on some lousy mentors/advisors and ended up losing tons without PT/SL .. overspending without a predetermined budget .. lack of resources .. etc etc.
Should I have known only 50% of the above, I would have an extra $10-$15K for my trading business!
Having gone through over 20 systems and hundreds of indicators (incl over 5 day trading rooms), I can honestly say 50% of the time could be spent on other fruitful activities.
I believe those who are thinking of trading as a business or profession (part- or full-time) may benefit from my sharing or what I went through. Certainly we are all unique. One may still prefer working on his/her own pace .. learn by mistakes (quite often) and enjoy the "falling" experience. Have to respect that as well!
No worries I am not going to fool anyone. I will not declare I am a profitable trader until I become one. I am not going to position myself as a trading expert or a professional trader. Nevertheless, I am in a grey or slightly green zone since I was back on track.
I am picking up my former profession (remember I ran a consulting/softskills training business before) and see if I can offer coaching/assessment services to those who have trading in their heads for months/years. As of this moment, I have not mapped out any solid ideas. It may be a non-business business, ie not generating any tangible rewards. It's always my intention to help young professionals and some may want to learn more on trading. I am not going to ask for anything (except a ride which is reasonable) when I offer them free sessions. They may not consider my offer. I remember approaching a few non-profit organizations before offering them free training programs. Not even one took my offer. Sooo, let's see how things evolve and I won't lose sleep if nothing happens.
Like Big Mike said, I am helping myself and others at the same time.
