Alright. I was surprised to learn that it disallows access to past albums from the change I made. So given that info, I have re-enabled albums for now until I can solve that problem.
Thanks @Big Mike! Yes they were gone from my account but now they are back. I really appreciate it. I had some stuff organized that I forgot about and just wanted to pull down so I can organize it locally, but didn't want to make a big deal about it
Thanks again, I'll download it and get it out of the way. Looking forward to all the upcoming enhancements to an already great site!
I’m sorry the email newsletter had to be sent twice about Molly. Here is the correct link if you are able to help us raise money for pets in need: https://on.futures.io/p6z55
A while back we changed the format for vendors on the site, to list the name of their company below their names -- and not their URL. At the same time, that information should be displayed in a green color.
This is the new format:
If you see anyone on the site/posts with the old format, such as below (example), please notify the mods (you can report the post) so we can update to the new format.
Changes to the quick search top-right, will no longer show closed threads. If you want to find closed threads, you must use the Advanced Search option.
Thousands of you have email trouble on a regular basis. Man, I wish everyone would just use gmail sometimes because honestly, it's simply the best. I make that assertion based on 125k email addresses in our database and regular outbound emails and the results of them...
A great deal of effort on my part is spent to notify you guys when there is email trouble. To that end, I've added the following this morning:
This banner appears at the top of the page when the last email we sent to you was rejected by your Email Service Provider for any reason. We store two pieces of information in that case: (1) the date the email was rejected, (2) the SMTP server diag response [such as invalid mailbox, over quota, message flagged as spam, etc], and finally item number (3) on screenshot is a link to your Direct Messages so you can read the automated response that is generated when this happens.
This is what that automated message looks like:
(1) showing reject reason (bounced in this case, bad mailbox)
(2) showing SMTP server response, when available
(3) explain all emails are halted, you can't even reset your password unless you fix this
(4) make sure your email address is correct
(5) click the Re-subscribe button, critical piece of this that must not be skipped!
So #5 is critical because only this will trigger our email server to remove you from the "bad" database and try again to send you an email. This is because it costs us money every time an email goes out, whether it is a valid message or a bad one, so we maintain a database of emails that WORK and nothing else.
I hope all of this can offer some assistance to you guys and an explanation as to why you might be seeing such messages.
Greater flexibility on newsletters, ability to select/de-select webinars for example from other types of newsletters. This is a major code change but it is on my list.
