The journal challenge is a recurring event here, and I am proud of it - because of how much it can help traders!
I've now completed the feature that will allow real-time updates for the journal challenge:
As you browse our community threads, you'll see this real-time list updating. Follow along in the journal threads and make your voice heard by voting for your favorites -- using the thanks button -- so that journal authors can win!
You should also start your own journal, for your own chance to win!

This site for some reason truncates urls if you just paste the url into the text box rather than use the "insert link" button if they have a # in them. All of SierraChart docs links for the ACSIL functions and methods have urls with this # in them so its has been hard to point users to the function you are trying to direct them to until I just noticed that the button doesn't shorten the link!
for example,
2021-01-30 14_19_24-ACSIL Interface Members - Functions - Sierra Chart
The above url gets posted here if I use the insert link button as,
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ACSIL_Members_Functions.html
but like this if pasted directly into the text,
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ACSIL_Members_Functions.html
Which is strange?!
Are you saying the below URL doesn't work?
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ACSIL_Members_Functions.html#scAlertWithMessage
Test:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ACSIL_Members_Functions.html

@Trembling Hand
So what you can do as a workaround for the moment is the following:
[url="https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ACSIL_Members_Functions.html#scAlertWithMessage"]my url with fragment[/url]
When you mark it up this way, it maintains the URL fragment in the href.

YouTube URL's will now automatically be converted to YouTube player, without needing any bbcode markup. Simply post the URL and nothing more.
Existing posts are being converted now in the background, it will take a few hours. New posts should reflect the change immediately.
Please report any problems.

Mike, a question, but depending on the answer it may lead to a suggestion:
Suppose I tag someone with the "@" sign, and it's the wrong person. But it's a valid user so the system finds a match and sends out a DM.
Then I realize the mistake and go back to my post and edit it to put in the user I really meant, and the system finds a match on it.
Does the edit trigger a new DM to the corrected user, or is that only done when I did the original post?
If it doesn't send a new DM, do you think it should, and is it worth whatever effort it would take to change it, if so?
(I just did exactly this mistake/correction, and I wondered if the newly-corrected user would be notified of the mention.)
Bob.

Made a change to prevent new post subscription emails for going out for the "Introduce yourself" thread.
The reasoning being that each new post triggers thousands of emails, and it can be overwhelming -- especially for new members.
I have a suspicion that we actually lose a lot of good potential members here because they end up getting "spammed" with introduce yourself emails, and perhaps they hit the Unsubscribe button and accept the links -- which is to remove all emails of any kind going forward (so they never hear from us again).
Another possibility is that they simply mark the whole range of "introduce yourself" emails as spam in their email software, which automatically triggers an unsubscription on our side from all emails as well.
If any of you are subscribed and currently receiving emails to that thread, would you please kindly tell me whether or not you have stopped getting them as of now (going forward from this post).

Bob.
The edit will in fact trigger a mention for the new (corrected) user, which will trigger an email to them if they have not disabled it.

OK, I think I got it now. So no one should be receiving "Reply to Introduce yourself thread" emails any longer.
