i have not take this one but have taken two others.... expect general information. he teaches no trade set ups using market profile. he never has . you will most likely have more understanding of the general use of the market profile graph. based on his other works he has just repackaged field of vision and added 60-Day S&P Accelerated-Learning Intensive” knowing newbes like to trade the e.s. and it should sell good.
Monday's MP levels were nice areas for potential trade setups. It doesn't mean that the first entry is going to achieve 80% - if you look at the last chart above, you can see that it took several tries before that was done.
That …
Also note, we have a SKYPE room which focuses on MP and reading the DOM exclusively. If anyone is interested, PM me. Please read what our group IS and IS NOT in the linked thread. Thanks.
he is the only trader sell stuff that.... i think.....really trades... most trading courses is a wate of time for the most part.... i have been able to use his stuff to improve... i have taken this one and field of vision..... his stuff is not easy.... or quickly learened.... but it seems to work over the long run
I heard that this will be Jim Dalton's last intensive...
I was wondering if anyone has taken one recently? As someone new to market profile, I would like to learn from the man who wrote the book. I have started on FT71's webinars and was wondering what lvl of depth this went into.
I am a relatively new to MP. I have reviewed many of the articles and webinars available both here and on the web, including FT71's and JD's. I purchased the Fields of Vision series. In the process of watching it a second time. In addition, I did enroll in his last intensive course starting in April. Dalton's level of insight into the market auction process is unparalleled and can not be overstated. He is a very patient teacher. He does not recommend trade set-ups per se but rather encourages developing an true understanding of the two-way auction process, importance of value over price, significance of time-frames, excess and price acceptance/rejection. I was granted access to last week of the most recent intensive which ended the last week February. i have been quite pleased. Live trading webinars/commentary, pre-market and post-market write-ups, and other special topic webinars are included in the intensive.
I will leave it to others to decide whether value is being delivered but I'm pleased and looking forward to starting the 5 week intensive. Peace
I am contemplating taking the Dalton course because I am a complete newb and feel the need for some hand-holding. If I want to start learning here before I shell out for a course, where is the absolute best place to begin, from a position of zero knowledge? I have stock trading knowledge, but practically no futures knowledge. I have the Elite membership, but this site can be overwhelming to an old lady trader such as myself. I'm also interested in trading psychology since stops are my nemesis.
Jim Dalton's perspective on market is always interesting but to translate this to actual trading it takes a lot of work.
I think that many of Jim's concepts are quite outdated, and one should be very very cautious in how to apply it.
The real problem of Jim's perspective is that he regrets anything else that is not market profile, and since he is old people tend to think that he own the truth and that one should trade like Jim.
I think that nowadays you cannot use "only" jim's approach. Technology has changed and markets have changed with it.
Jim has his own style which works because he has done so many hours of screen that he can recognize the rythm of the market but this is not suitable for beginners.
I still believe there is value in Jim's work but take for what it is, and develop your own style.
I took one intensive with Jim years ago, but basically you can find everything for free on youtube. Before taking the intensive I had seen and studied all of Jim's youtube videos. My level of knowledge of market profile and of Jim's work was so deep that I found no value in the intensive, I basically had already learnt everything from youtube.
With this mastery of Market profile I went live.... and in just 3 months blew up a 50K account.
I'd be interested in looking into more of what Dalton has released one day, but am I correct in thinking he mostly uses futures options when he does place a trade? I remember seeing a few videos on Youtube where that was mentioned. I wonder if that would affect the style.
