Attachment 310643Hello all,

I have been using a heat map/order flow/ Depth of market trading for some time. Friday something odd happened.

This is a picture of Motive wave version of bookmap heat map using rithmic data.

Those who trade off bookmap might know what all this means. The darker the white lines the more orders are in book. Now this would be okay if the orders were real. In this case looks like an algo or something pumping fake orders into NQ and they just trade within the range of NQ they never get filled and are always there.

Here is a another photo a few minutes later after price moves

I know this use to happen in the mricos of ES and NQ but never on the minis. If you are a DOM trading using Jigsaw or Rithmic those orders still pop up as fake orders too.

Does one have bookmap and running into this issue? Any one know of a solution?

Thank you in advance,

If youre talking about the Heatmap lines moving with price above and below, that is completely normal Algo behaviour in some instances. Its very common. I dont know why they are programmed to act this way.
It may pay to be on the lookout when it stops! i.e possibly ending an accumulation period, who knows?

I would agree but the micros on MNQ never stopped. The Algo is on 24/7 no matter what, I think that might be the same issue now on NQ.

If so that would make the heat maps that much harder to read and kinda useless.

I noticed that today as well, it is not normal for the NQ. I think those lines will go away once rollover is complete, since they just showed up during rollover week, maybe they will go away after friday.

It's because you're on the "older" contract use the M1 contracts and you should be fine
