It's been a long time since the last competition, so I figure we're about due. A lot has changed since the 2018 M6E Friendly Competition to be sure. We now have micro contracts coming out of all sorts of places, and it has been a good thing... newbies can play in the micro sandbox and lose their asses slower than ever before, and people that are actually good at trading can micro-manage their risk. What's to lose?
I'll tell you what is to lose... the 2021 MES Friendly Competition Championship!
Only One can be the winner... second place? First loser, and everyone else falls in line after that. BUT.. we all learn and grow in the process!
Sound like fun? If yes, great, let's do this. If not... then go away or sit back and enjoy the show.
The original competition was based on the most viable Micro at the time, M6E. For a month or so, it was quite popular if, unfortunately, short lived. I think the concept was great though, and something worth pursuing. I propose a modern competition based on the most liquid of Micros, the MES.
I figure we all will have some free time in the next couple of weeks to figure out the details. I'm gonna throw a shout out to the originator of the first, @jackbravo for his input on the process. I'll get to spamming others later
Lots of questions... how many lots? SIM/live/both? Commissions? How to track it? How long will the competition run? So on and so forth... One thing, we need to have consensus before 2021 because, come January, it's on one way or another. My input so far is this.. MES, good participation, and no bullshit. Be real, be honest, be a friend in the 2021 MES Friendly Competition
That's what I got. Let's hear it, NexusFi peeps. Whaddya think? Who's in?
@Rrrracer, I'm in! I think since commissions vary it should probably be total ticks gained? Really like the friendly competition aspect, like sometimes I'm resting on my laurels and just watching the market but if there's NexusFi pride on the line then that might force me to be just a touch more active! Not sure if this is a good idea for my bottom line but I'll join in nonetheless!
Great idea @Rrrracer! I'd be down, but ES (MES) trading doesn't quite line up with my work schedule. But I'd definitely spectate the competition. . Sounds like fun!
Thanks for the shoutout @Rrrracer ! Wish you luck with the competition. I am not participating this time around, still trying to get my mind right (don't ask for how long), but I'll peek in for entertainment and inspiration!

A small group started a friendly competition in December 2017 trading the M6E micro futures contract. The purpose of the competition was to spur a friendly rivalry and push ourselves to trade better. The competition allowed the participants to discuss …
I participated in the competition CME put on two years ago for the new Micros. It distracted for my regular trading, but it was really fun.
BigMike could host a sim trading competition on NexusFi. I think it would be wildly popular and bring in more users to the family.
But how to do it? Here are my ideas:
1) Involve the CME with NexusFi and use the CME's sim challenge platform.
2) Get one of the hosts of various collegiate trading competitions to let us use their platform. (see info on just 5 of them below)
3) We all use the free version of MT5 and trade sim futures. BigMike works with MQL5.com to get access to all the sim accounts to create a leaderboard.
4) BigMike writes his own proprietary trading simulator for NexusFi.

Some Collegiate Trading Championships:
a) The first one is using Interactive Broker papertrading accounts AND they are doing risk-adjusted returns using the Sharp ratio. Awesome. It's not just a free-for-all.
