I am stuck is there a way to get the updated margin requirements for a specific contract via easylanguage?

I can not find a function to request that information anywhere. Please help my eyes hurt from looking.

This is probably your best bet, but you have to know how to use EL Objects (I only know enough OOEL to be dangerous):


Note, there are two limitations here:

1. It is processor intensive, so you don't want to get margin every single bar if you are running intraday charts. Code it to only get margin once per day.
2. It does not reference historical data, so you cannot use that value for back testing.

I think that is the only way to get margin for an individual instrument/symbol. If you cannot puzzle this out, you may also try asking this question over at the TradeStation community forums.

there is a TradingApp posted in the official TS forum that shows how you can scrape margin information from a website: https://community.tradestation.com/Discussions/Topic.aspx?Topic_ID=140235
It creates a file with the margin information and provides functions to access the information.
