At the end of your day-trading session, how do you go about confirming you're flat?

I use Sierra Chart, and I know it says 'flat' in the trade window and the 'Cancel All' button is greyed out (so there's no pending orders), but I worry sometimes it's not telling the truth.

I get paranoid about a forgotten order triggering overnight while I'm asleep!

It's a while ago that I've used SC, but I guess if it says "flat", it just means the current (active) contract, I don't know how SC works in this case, but most trading-platforms have a window, where you can see "working orders", watching this window should help

I generally run a 2nd platform (R-Trader Pro) on a separate laptop to monitor my position while I place trades in Sierra Chart. When I'm finished, I shut down Sierra Chart then do a final check in R-Trader Pro before shutting that down too.

Thanks, I guess this is what I was really asking - i.e. whether people use something else independent of their main trading platform to confirm everything's flat and no orders have been left 'in the wild'.

I always confirm on my broker, I have interactive brokers tws open to always confirm there's no open position, this because, sometimes sierra chart has some ghost orders and I remember one time I flatted a ghost order and it closed on SC but as there was no actual real position the sell command became a real short entry on IBKR, so, always confirm on your broker
