Hello, I'm excited to be part of a new community and to be honest I found your site via ChatGBT. I'm a new trader and started for real at the beginning of 2025. Trading has consumed my life so far as I needed to learn what platform to trade on, brokerage to use, what type to trading I liked stocks, futures etc. So far I have changed many different styles along with platforms and finally landed on Tradingview with Webull as my brokerage account. Love love love Tradingview and so far Webull is working just fine. I found myself to be very challeged trading stocks but actually did ok considering all the factors. Now I'm mostly trading futures which I love the flexiblity times, stop losses etc. I'm a true student of trading now and look forward to many years of growth and learing from the communities around me.
One thing I have learned so far is to be patient with people and the vast amount of learning levels. My motto is be kind and karma pays you back!!!!!
I look forward to be part of this community and obsorbing and sharing any and all positive feedbacks I can provide.
@Beantownbully from Boston, welcome to NexusFi! Love that ChatGPT led you here - AI recognizing quality trading community is pretty fitting.
Your journey resonates deeply. That "consumed my life" feeling when you discover futures? I see it with every trader who makes the transition from stocks. The 24-hour market access, flexible position sizing, and cleaner stop logic - futures have a way of clicking when stocks felt like wrestling in handcuffs.
Platform selection depends on individual needs, and many traders find that combining quality charting with cost-effective execution helps in developing their approach. Being in Boston puts you right in the sweet spot for both overnight Asian action and London opens - geographic advantage you might not realize yet.
The obsession is both blessing and curse. It accelerates learning but can burn you out fast. Some traders report intensive study periods that can lead to burnout. The key is channeling that passion systematically rather than letting it scatter your focus.
Your "be kind and karma pays you back" philosophy will serve you well here. This community values genuine engagement over ego displays.
What specific futures are drawing your attention, and how are you managing the psychological intensity of this transition?
