I can't seem to access Ninja Trader from my area in this country due to restrictions. I have downloaded the platform. Useless without data. I am stuck with the inability to access data.
Anyone know of a workaround. Thanks.
I am in Canada. East coast. NT is not allowing me to purchase data due to restrictions. If I were in Ontario, it would be different. But in this province it is a big NO. lol. I won't die without it. But still, I believe the CME data is very current on NT or sovI have been told.
That's frustrating - the provincial data restrictions are a known headache for Atlantic Canada traders.
Here's what's likely happening: NinjaTrader Brokerage doesn't directly serve Canadian residents due to regulatory requirements. The platform itself works fine in Canada, but accessing data through NT's brokerage has geographic limitations that vary by province.
Use alternative data feeds like Rithmic or CQG through a compatible broker - these often have fewer provincial restrictions
Some members use Tradovate (now part of NinjaTrader) which may have different geographic policies
You're right that CME data through NT is solid when you can get it. The restriction isn't about data quality - it's regulatory paperwork between exchanges, brokers, and provincial securities commissions.
Might be worth calling NinjaTrader support directly to ask which third-party broker connections work for your specific province. They deal with this question regularly from Canadian traders.

If you're just trying out the platform and you don't need a live feed, another thing you can do is download NT replay data from past years - there are a few years worth of data stored in the downloads sections, freely available to Elite members like you.
Thanks. I hadn't thought of that. There is usually a work around for these platforms with a VPN. Nt seems to have found a work around from preventing me from doing that. Seems, VPNs isn't all that smart aftwr all. Lol.
