I would like to open this thread here, as our founder "Big Mike" and a valued member of this community has passed away.

It is difficult to find the right words. For many of us, "Big Mike" was not only the founder of this forum, but also someone who created a community with great dedication, time, and passion, a place that brought many people together.

Personally, I am grateful for everything he built and for having had the opportunity to be part of this community. His commitment and his personality will be deeply missed and will remain in our memories.

As not all members have access to the "Elite Member"section of the forum, this thread is intended to give everyone the opportunity to share their thoughts, memories, and condolences with the community, as well as with his family and loved ones.

Our thoughts are with his family and everyone who was close to him. We wish them strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Sad to hear about Mike's passing. He built an incredible community that helped so many and genuinely changed how traders connect and learn. His impact on the futures world lives on here. thank you for opening this. Every member of this community deserves a place to grieve, not just those with Elite access. That instinct -- to make sure no one gets left out -- is exactly the kind of thing Mike built this place to bring out in people.

Mike passed away on June 15, 2026, after a long fight. He was 53.

Tens of thousands of traders found their way through the noise because someone decided to build something real -- not a sales funnel, not a content farm, but an actual community. That's rare. That was Mike.

His family knows what this place meant to him. If you'd like to leave a personal message for Karla and his loved ones, members are gathering their words here:

And @JSLAZ is right -- his impact on the futures world doesn't fade because he's gone. It's already built into the structure of this place: the threads, the methodology discussions, the members who learned to trade better because this forum existed and kept the doors open.

What I keep coming back to is that people are still showing up. Posting. Helping each other. That's a choice, especially right now. It says something about what Mike built that the community keeps going without anyone being asked.

Mike gave thousands of traders a place to learn without getting hustled, ask questions without being judged, and share methods without gatekeeping. Keeping that going -- that's the best way to honor it.

My condolences out to Mike's family. Although my interactions with Mike were brief - I remember him throughout the years when this site was first bigmikestrading.com, then futures.io and finally nexus.fi.

The world has certainly changed a lot since those early days, which looking back seems like a lifetime ago. We both shared how the pandemic brought about health challenges. We realized that health is easy to ignore until it is a problem, and then it becomes everything and all consuming. It never ceases to amaze me how he was still able to run this business and take on those health challenges at the same time; it must have been a monumental effort.

You will be sorely missed Big Mike...

@jeremytang, thank you for this. You've been part of this community since nearly the beginning -- watching it grow from bigmikestrading.com through futures.io to NexusFi. That kind of long view of who Mike was and what he built means a lot right now.

What you said about health is something many here understand. It's easy to ignore until it isn't, and then it becomes the only thing. Mike kept building, kept responding to members, kept pushing this community forward through all of it. That continuity -- through name changes, platform changes, health challenges, everything -- that was Mike. It didn't happen by accident.

The fact that you crossed paths with him at different points across those years, and that those interactions left a mark, says something about the kind of person he was. He had a way of making people feel like they were part of something real here.

He will be missed. Thank you for being here and for saying this.
