I have the same problem over here as @deaddog has (Thumbnail with X). This problem shows up when using Firefox Version 157.0.1 (64-Bit) on a Windows 10 Pro.
But when I use an other laptop with an older OS, which is Windows 8.1 Enterprise with a Firefox Version 115.42 (64-Bit), it works.
On the other hand I then tried the tool @sam028 has mentioned (ShareX) on the OS W10 Pro with FF V 157.0.1. The tool is very easy to use (Download exe, install program, upload picture, copy URL between [IMG] [/IMG]) and here we go. I did it with pictures of different size and both are fine.
