Sorry Silvester, I am blind - where in release notes do you see this about the 32/64 bit stuff (being able to choose your version), I am not seeing it.

What OS are you running? It's 64-bit?
In the post Fat Tails made I couldn't see anything about 64-bit selection. I went to NT site to find the release notes, but they've redone their site and I couldn't find them right off, I will look later or if someone has a link to the official release notes that would be great. I'm just curious.

Now that NT7 is final, does anyone know whether Ninja is making it mandatory for people to upgrade?
I have avoided using NT7 since it was beta so really have not explored. Definitely would need a transition time especially now I have to duplicate my charts and hopefully all indicators are compatible in NT7.
Thanks!

I'm still not very good at that.
previous version you had 2 icons to start NT. one nt7 and the other one nt7 64-bit. plus in account connections you could enable the 64-bit version. now it says 32 and 64 version.
found this in the release notes:
64-bit NinjaTrader
We have added native support for running
NinjaTrader in a 64-bit environment. During installation, NinjaTrader will detect the presence of a 64-bit OS and install both 32-bit and 64-bit application icons on your desktop. NinjaTrader will fully utilize a 64-bit multi-core environment especially in the area of strategy development and optimization. There is a catch in that not all of our broker and market data adapters provide native 64-bit DLL's thus however, you can still use the 32-bit version.
but I only had 1 icon on my desktop
I have no idea what happened. I reinstalled the new version again, and now I have 2 icons on my desktop (32 and 64-bit).
so you still can choose which one you want.

Hmm, so you can no longer choose which version you want, it selects 64 bit if you are on 64-bit OS I presume?
Mike
Hi,
It installs both versions on a 64 Bit OS, then you can just run whichever you want. They share the Ninja7 My Docs directory, which is handy (for many people, I assume) So, you can run whichever you like, but not both at the same time. If you only get one icon on a 64 bit OS, the solution is usually the old uninstall completely, clear your browser cache etc (or maybe it's just reinstall!)
Beware though, there is a problem with non-US 64 bit usage of Zen Fire. Ninjatrader 7.0 64-bit not connecting to Zenfire - [AUTOLINK]NinjaTrader[/AUTOLINK] Support Forum

Yes, it is same as before, Silvester's install just had a quirk apparently which I was trying to understand and investigate.
