On top is the IB quote window
Below the IB on right hand side is jigsaw Summary tape > I watch this to gauge volume of trades going off at bid and offer.
Below the IB on left hand side is jigsaw recon tape > shows individual reconstructed trades.
Things I watch:
- pace of the tape
- excessive size on bid or ask and price keeps returning to it
- absorption e.g lot of volume of selling at the bid, but price holds the level
- how does bid and ask price change with the latest traded price
Sometimes it shows something and sometimes it doesn't (or I'm not good enough to read it it yet).
I use Charts to provide the context i.e where is price in relation to previous days levels and in relation to the open.
So I try to get more focussed on the tape when the price is approaching 'key levels'.
