Thank you for the updated response.
What's your take on the Chart Trader & DOM of MC?
I read from the tread "Multichart, Multichart, Multichart" about this feature of MC that seems to be not up to standard.
But I guess they were still talking about the previous versions before MC8. What's it like now with the latest version MC8?
Big Mike,
I noticed you seem to have migrated to Sierra Chart since you have started with this MC forum.
Are you still using MC or have moved to SC due to some reasons?
I also noted that you have recommended IQFeed as a preferred data-feed. I wonder if I can use it to work with MC8 or NT7 for mechanical trading (automatic execution).
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
the difference in both platforms Price ladder/DOM and chart traders i found to be inconsequential. They both meet the standards for me. But that's me... I may be too wet behind the ears to speak adequately on the topic but those differences are trivial to the overall platform. In my opinion. MC8 was very similar to 7, just faster, lighter, 64bit etc...
NT8 should be around the corner with similar upgrades I'm sure.
It is my understanding that BigMike uses SC due to Volume analysis and for discretionary trading, and ninja for strategy development and back testing. but that and data feeds are probably for another topic
I have approximate answers, possible beliefs and different degrees of certainty of different things. But I'm not absolutely sure of anything and there are many things i don't know anything about.
I read the treads on Multichart & noticed that BM has been a strong advocate in the past about this software.
I wonder what is the actual reason(s) that prompted him to SC. Could it be some shortfall that BM has discovered about MC or due to the pull-out of MC from this forum (which I think it's quite a pity).
I hope BM see this & can enlighten me.
In any case, thank you so much Program for your willingness to share & advise.

I cannot answer for @Big Mike, but I can speak about myself.
The main driver for my move from MultiCharts to Sierra Chart was the built-in availability on SC of features which were not really/robustly available on MC: Volume Profile, Market Profile, delta, Time & Sales, etc.
Nicolas11,
Thank you for chipping in your advice. I'm really new to trading & this forum.
I'm not too sure if I understand what's a volume profile, market profile & delta is. Do I therefore need them?
I do however know what's a time & sales is which I can get it from IB.

I think one of the reasons is that volume profile and cum delta wouldn't work correctly in MC but NOW that has been fixed. It works beautifully and is very configurable in MC..
Another reason is that MC no longer has a representative here on futures.io (formerly BMT)..
