Ron, this is a GAIN limitation, not a NinjaTrader limitation. Has been this way since 2006. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. If I could change it I would.

I understand what you are asking. GAIN unfortunately does not support what you want. I did think of another broker partner, Oanda, the only other option for US FX and for a number of reasons, chose GAIN.

Perhaps NT8 can be configured to allow the bold above. Add a temp order ID to these types of FX orders or amend the order ID only in NT8 with a suffix and then display them...
Let’s not take the easy way out and be content with "Can't be done"...let’s roll up our sleeves and put in the hard work to make it, it "Can be done".................

I will add my thoughts here. I purchased a lifetime license a few months back and am really disappointed. NT8 is slow and has a cumbersome feel to it. Compared to ThinkorSwim, it is like a tortoise and a hare comparison. I run 4 monitors on a very fast and robust system. ThinkorSwim functions in less than a blink of an eye and processes voluminous amounts of data in doing so. NT8 has lag and is very sluggish. I would not trust it for live trades. Support is minimal. This reminds me of software that you purchase that has a no refund policy and it simply becomes space on your hard drive because you can't bring yourself to delete it based on what you paid for it. I remember back in the 90's when Tradestation was selling their software. I purchased the full version at that time for around $2400. Several years later they changed their business model and no longer supported the paid versions that their customers had purchased. I believe NT is headed down that path. No one is going to trust this software in a few years and they will become irrelevant. The various forums related to trading are full of complaints about NT8 being sluggish and crashing and/or locking up. I see the same thing unfolding in the other forums that is unfolding here: support is not able to re-create what the requestor is complaining about and therefore, not able to resolve any matter. None of us want to beta test software when trading a live account and that is what NT8 is at this time. As traders, we have all spent thousands of dollars on software and vendors that we felt would help us to trade better. When that turns out not to be the case, we need to know when to discard the software or vendor and move on. Just like in a trade, we cut a loser lose and move on to the next trade. There are many robust trading platforms that are available to us traders. However, NT8 for me, is not one of them.
Hi Alaskajeff.... I can understand your frustrations. I trade on both NT8 and TOS... in my mind, TOS is very slow in order execution and I have had it crash on occasion when I am moving my order.. I have seen price pass thru mu orders several times and by many ticks on several occasions and still not be filled. I have never seen that on NT 7 or 8, except when there is some crazy liquidity issue like CL inventory report,
and that is not a platform issue.
Saying that, I have had a lot of problems with NT8 and after countless sessions with support, I put 2 and 2 together while working together with SIM22 (really bright guy) and I built a small batch file that clears both cache directories and both sets of Minute, Day and Tick data. I run this every day after I close NT. I have to say that NT8 is running like a charm now... very well contained memory, very responsive and no quirky data or chart issues so far. If you would like a copy, please let me know.
NT software - user built software.People are wasting their time instead of focusing on trading.Thumbs down for NT.What kind of developers do you hire???
I completely disagree with you. Ninja have outstanding support, credit where credit is due.
Having said that, I no longer use the platform, and on reflective moments when I am staring wistfully out the window marinating in past mistakes I admit to grinding irritation at having purchased the lifetime license which is no longer used.
Im not here to bash Ninja, I just wanted to point out that I disagreed with your sentiment about minimal support. When I was on their forums I always had prompt and helpful replies from members of the team.
