Just noticed a way to generate the seemingly permanent last post flickering issue - I had to edit a post to correct a member's username so that he got 'mentioned' properly. Just this action set off the repeated flickering. Really interesting (to us saddos) is that it is cross-browser (in this case triggered in Edge, visible in Chrome, Firefox and Edge) so please don't say it's my fat cookies unless the rabbit hole is even deeper.
Cheers
Just seen that post of yours - and yes, the flickering starts after a few secs on that post.
I may be wrong but I think the flickering eventually stops on such posts either
a) when the short time for editing the post before the 'last edited' message shows up
or
b) when 24h have passed and the post can no longer be edited
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?

My experience is that there are many ways to cause the flicker, seemingly random. I've edited usernames before and not had an issue.
The way to fix it is to go back and Edit the post, and make any change -- I usually just add a space between words -- and then save it.
This has worked every time I have tried it.
Bob..
Yep that stops it. Thanks Bob.

Just noticed some odd behavior in the last couple of days:
when searching for text via 'Advanced search', the two functions
appear to provide the opposite results as intended. What I mean is that if I select "Show results as Threads" I get results as posts, and viceversa.
Has anyone else come across this?
No big deal as they still work, but I thought I'd point this out.

I will check.
I made a change the other day so that when searching posts, the thread title in the result page would link you to the post in the thread as opposed to post #1 which may have no relation to the result.
But other than that, not sure what I would have screwed up.

Thanks for reporting. I did make a mistake in the code (one of those 2am fixes), and have corrected it now. Please test and report back.
